Auntie Mary’s Sour Creme Coffee Cake

2 teaspoons cinnamon
2 teaspoons vanilla
½ cup coarsely chopped walnuts
½ cup sugar
Place in a medium bowl, stir let sit

8 tablespoons (1 stick) unsalted butter
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 Tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
½  teaspoon salt
1 cup sour cream

  1. Beat eggs with butter, slowly add sugar
  2. In medium bowl mix dry ingredients
  3. Add the dry mixture into the eggs
  4. Stir in sour cream
  5. In a baking dish, pour half the batter
  6. Spread half of the nut mixture over batter
  7. Pour the rest of the batter on to the cake
  8. Top with remaining nut mixture
  9. Bake at 350 for 40 minutes
