Apple Dumplings

4 cups flour
2 cups shortening
1 cup ice cold water
1 tsp salt
6 large apples
½ cup brown sugar
2 Tbl butter
1 tsp cinnamon

  1. in a large bowl mix flour, salt, and shortening
  2. add water
  3. take pie crust and cut into 6 balls
  4. roll out
  5. peel and core apples
  6. stand each apple in middle of crust
  7. in a medium bowl mix sugar, cinnamon, butter
  8. fill each apple with sugar
  9. pull up crust around apple, pinch ends closed


1 ½ c. water

2 Tbsp. butter

1/3 c. sugar

Boil in sauce pan, pour over apples, bake 45 minutes.
