1. Bring to boil 1 1/2 cup water with 1 cup sugar, add peeled pears.
2. Meanwhile, in another pot, boil cubed butternut squash.
3. Slice 1/2 sweet onion, add to pears, cook 5 minutes. Add 3 Tablespoons balsamic vinegar.
It should begin to get thick like syrup within 3 – 5 minutes. Time enough to plate your steak, squash & wild rice. Spoon the pears along side your steak and enjoy!
