Dorm Room Dinner


Here you are College Students, a budget friendly meal that you can easily make. As these flavor units float down the hall, you’ll become the envy of the dorm. If you are wise, you’ll quickly use the barter system …food in exchange for, well that’s between you and your college buddies.
Here’s the 411, in a few easy steps:
At the grocery store,
1 Steak, check at the meat counter for the sale/deal
1 Tomato
1 Bag baby spinach mix
1 Bag of shredded carrots/broccoli/slaw mix
1 French Baguette
1 onion
2 small white potatoes
In your Kitchen,
1. Slice 1/2 of the onion thin
2. Place in a skillet with 1 Tablespoon butter & 2 Tablespoons of olive oil
3. Slice potatoes, really thin, add to skillet
4. Cook on medium heat 5 minutes, add 1/2 cup of water
5. Simmer 20 minutes

Next,  Season Steak, salt, pepper, herbs…like oregano on both sides!

Heat a skillet with 1 Tablespoon butter, add the steak
Cook on medium heat for 4 minutes, then turn the steak.
Cook additional 4 minutes.

On a platter, arrange sliced tomato and sliced baguette. Place a handful of spinach mix on platter, top with a handful of shredded veggie mix. Drizzle with olive oil or salad dressing.
Serve with your steak & potatoes, and of course a Big Smile!
This meal should serve 3 or 4 people, or use the leftovers for lunch.

When you have a happy tummy, you can concentrate on ace-ing that exam. Then you can go out and stir up some fun with your new friends!!
