Blackberries are in season here in North Carolina! While I may have indulged in black raspberry ice cream recently, I think it has more to do with me missing my sister.
As little kids, she was the reliable one. The type that did not explore, the girl that ate a hot dog on a stick, no bun, no mustard or relish, just simple. She would eat meatloaf and mashed potatoes with out gravy or ketchup, and they couldn’t be touching on the plate.
When we did go out for an adventure and be treated for ice cream, my sister would surprise us by ordering Black Raspberry! A delightful surprise, in deed.
This recipe is easy;
Dip lady fingers in sugar, line a spring form pan with them
Beat each flavor of ice cream for 2- 3 minutes
Layer into pan
Cover with plastic wrap, refreeze for 1 hour
No need to go looking for delightful surprises, you may already have them right in your own kitchen.
